Ways to use raw turmeric for indigestion, sore throat, cough and cold

For cough and cold: Drinking a glass of turmeric latte (haldi doodh)before going to bed not only induces sleep but also helps you deal with coughand cold. Crush a small piece of turmeric in mortar and pestle. Mix crushed turmeric in a bowl containing a glass of boiled milk. Add a teaspoon of jaggery or sugar to the drink and drink when warm. One thing you need to keep in mind is not to drink water after having this drink. For indigestion: Raw turmeric when used in combination with garlic and ghee also helps in relieving indigestion. If you have stomach pain or suffer from indigestion, eat boiled raw turmeric with an equal quantity of garlic and a teaspoon of ghee to get rid of it. It is due to the presence of curcumin and oils that alleviate symptoms of indigestion and heartburn.

For a sore throat: The therapeutic activity of raw turmeric is due to its anti-inflammatory compounds, which acts as a home remedy to treat a sore throat. To a teaspoon of raw turmeric paste, add ½ a teaspoon of garlic paste and a teaspoon of jaggery. Warm the mixture a little before eating it. Do this twice a day to treat a sore throatnaturally.
