Watching TV for just 15 mins a day makes kids less creative
Children who spend just 15 minutes a day watching TV may lose their creative minds.

In the study, the team looked at the immediate impact of television on three-year-old’s creativity. They compared children who watched — Postman Pat, with those who read books or played jigsaw puzzles.  The children were tested for throwing up maximum original creative ideas. The study is potentially useful to those who produce children’s television shows, early year educators, as well as parents. The findings were presented at the British Psychological Developmental Conference in Belfast, recently.Watching TV for kids also affects adversely on their health.Six-year-olds who spend most of their time watching TV could end up with narrower arteries in the eyes, increasing their chances of heart disease, high blood pressure and diabetes in later life.The study, which looked at 1,500 six-to-seven-year-old children in 34 primary schools, showed that the increased health risks from each hour a day of TV was similar to that associated with an increase in blood pressure, University of Sydney researchers said. Physically active children had significantly wider average retinal arteries than their largely sedentary counterparts, reports the journal Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis and Vascular Biology: Journal of the American Heart Association.(Read: Watching TV could be making your kids dumber!)
