Will he ask you out on a second date? Here's how to figure that out.

Most 20-somethings on dating apps are constantly looking for new people to date, and it’s not very difficult to bag the first date. However, first dates can be tricky and it is a lot like a job interview for both parties involved. After all, the whole idea of meeting is to see if you’re attracted to that person in real life and if you have anything in common with the opposite person. Here are ways to be more confident during a first date.

There will be times when you have a good time, but you still don’t get a second date. So, how do you know if the first date will lead to something? These are the six signs that you won’t see him again.

1. There were far too many awkward silences

It’s quite normal for a first date to be slightly awkward especially during the first 10-15 minutes of meeting. However, if you were struggling to come up with things to talk about and there were painfully long awkward silences, this is not a good sign. Unless both of you are very shy people, this means you and your date are just not compatible.

2. He barely asked any questions

Men, in particular, have a bad habit of only talking about themselves during dates. If you were the only one asking questions and he barely showed any interest in what you do for a living, how you spend your free time and what makes you happy, he is just not that into you. These are the things a guy should never do on a first date.

3. The date ended within an hour or two

When he is having a great time during the date, after coffee or dinner, he will suggest going for a walk, order desserts or just look for an excuse to spend more time with you. On the other hand, if he calls for the bill immediately after you’re done eating and the date ended within one hour, don’t even bother texting him later.

4. He didn’t tell you he had a good time

When a date is going well, he will tell you how he’s having a great time and even make some future plans. For instance, he might bring up how he is looking forward to a concert or trying out a new restaurant and suggest that you should join him if you’re free.

5. He did not text you right after the date

Did he text you an hour after you leave and ask if you reached home safely? If you were greeted with a radio silence and he didn’t bother texting you the same night, he is definitely not playing hard to get. Just go ahead and delete his number.

6. You think the date went just ‘okay’

When your friends ask you about your date, you don’t say it went well and nor do you think it was terrible. ‘Okay’ is the only word that comes to your mind. Most people don’t bother following up with someone they had an ‘okay’ time with since they’re too busy hunting for an instant connection. Don’t take it personally if you never heard back from your date and most importantly, don’t let it stop you from going on more first dates. This is just how modern dating works! Here are reasons why you should go on a date on Wednesday.
