Did you know that tandoori chicken may not be healthy? But the salad, unless there is excessive seasoning, is nutritious. Making it at home isn’t a time-consuming task. I prefer making this salad home as I can add a few more veggies to it and make it healthier. I could also team it with a healthy tandoori chicken recipe. Try making this salad at home and your weekend dinner will be set.
So here’s what you need –
Ingredients
½ cabbage, finely shredded (about 1 big cup) 1 medium sized capsicum, sliced in juliennes 1 medium onion, sliced 1 carrot, grated or julienned 1 cucumber, sliced into long strips 1 tbsp vinegar 1 tbsp lime juice 1 tbsp ketchup Salt to taste Coriander for garnishMethod
Wash and chop all the vegetables and mix in a big bowl. Here’s the correct way to wash all your vegetables. To these, add the vinegar, ketchup, lime juice and salt. Combine well. I prefer using my fingers to mix the salad well as it helps incorporate all the ingredients and gives the salad a better taste. Allow the salad to sit for at least half an hour before serving so that the vegetables absorb the juices and taste soft and delicious. Serve with tikkas or have it as is.
